It didn’t take too long after the launching of Need for Speed The Run that EA already reveals its intentions towards the next Need for Speed… or at least it is what we can conclude after reading a recent job requisition posted by Criterion Games. At the opposite of the past years, Electronic Arts has let us in the dark about the future of the Need for Speed franchise, but it seems that Slightly Mad Studios hasn’t gave any news about the Shift series while Black Box just released their opus. So logically the job for the next Need for Speed game comes back to Criterion Games which gave us the excellent, award winning Hot Pursuit last year.
Powered by a 5.7L V10 which develops 604hp, the Porsche Carrera GT, produced from 2004 to 2006, is able to stick you to your seat with its top speed of 330 kph. This german nuclear missile makes its way into The Run where you will find an obvious pleasure to drive it at high speeds through the USA. It will be available on the PS3 versions of The Run.
The Hennessey Venom GT is a high-performance car based on a modified Lotus Exige chassis. The twin-turbocharged GM V8 produces not less than 1200 horses and Hennessey claims it’s enough for the remarkably light vehicle to reach 440 kph. Get your copy of The Run for Playstation 3 and you could find yourself behind the wheel of this fantastic dream car!
Only few cars in the world can claim to go from 0 to 100 kph under only 3 seconds. The V10-powered italian concept car by Lamborghini, the Sesto Elemento, adds to this achievement a striking top speed in excess of 300 kph, with the help of a massive use of carbon fiber, leading to an overall weight of around 1,000 kg. You will have a chance in few days to drive this very limited track-only vehicle.
When the Nissan GT-R concept was revealed in 2005, few people knew that the final version would be as impressive at it looked back then. The final version includes a 6-speed semi-automatic dual clutch transmission and a twin-turbo V6 that delivers 478 angry unleashed horses which brings the top speed to 311 kph, which makes this japnese car one of the fastest production cars in the world. The AWD layout will also allow you to control easily this technologic brute on the streets in Need for Speed The Run.
