NFS: Fastest Days of the Year – Shift

On the fourth day of the Need for Speed Fastest Days of the Year, we are happy to share this trailer from Need for Speed: Shift with you. Hold on tight, as this second foray into the realm of simulation racing lives on the ragged edge!

The first game of the Shift sub-series, it was also the first in the franchise to feature a high-detail first-person camera, a customizable dash, as well as a highly in-depth tuning system. Shift was wildly successful and helped set the bar for what real racing looks and feels like!

This cutting-edge entry in the NFS franchise makes for a great gift for any racing enthusiast or gamer on your list, regardless of age or skill level! Pick it up on sale for $19.99 on Origin! For more information or to buy, click here.

The Fastest Days of the Year are among us. Today we take a trip down memory lane and look back at NFS: Pro Street. Pro Street was the first simulation style title of the franchise. Remember heating up your tires before taking off the line with your wheels in the air on the drag strip quarter-mile, or maybe reaching extreme breakneck top speeds in the High Octane Speed Challenges. Pro Street was also the first Need for Speed game to feature full-car damage.

NFS The Run: Title Update 1.3 Release Notes

Title update 1.3 for Need for Speed The Run is out now on PlayStation 3, and will be out shortly for XBOX 360. Thank you to everyone who provided feedback on the game, we appreciate all your comments and the devs have worked hard on this update, taking many into consideration.

The update will be available at different times around the globe, so please be patient if it’s not available for you right now.

Here is a short list of the updates:

Improvements to reset behavior in Single Player:
When players go off track, they will be reset back onto the track (similar to the reset behavior in online multiplayer races) instead of at the last checkpoint. Crashes will still result in a reset to the last checkpoint.
We’ve modified the reset behavior for a number of tracks in The Run where resets seemed too close to the main race route. This should reduce some frustration for players where they’ve suddenly been reset by just barely going off course.
Multiplayer – reduce the severity of racer to racer collisions in multiplayer races and jarring reactions by the game camera.
Multiplayer – Fix to address a connectivity issues sometimes seen when attempting to join multiplayer sessions on PS3
Multiplayer – Fix for load and connectivity issues being experienced on PS3.
Autolog – fix an issue where the Autolog friends list would sometimes appear empty and Speedwalls would display ‘Your Friend’ instead of the proper friends name.
We’ll let you know as soon as the patch is released on Xbox 360. As for PC, we do have a patch in the works but no ETA on when it will be released.

The third week of the Need for Speed The Run Time Attack communiy challenge has begun!

This is a weekly challenge where EA puts the community’s driving skills to the test by challenging everyone to beat their times in a Challenge Series event. For the third week they’ve got a real technical track for you to conquor.  NFSDrew put down a time of 2:56:21 in the Tioga Run event in the National Park Challenge Series.

Here’s how to enter this challenge:

At the end of the week they’ll randomly draw from the pool of all entries one lucky winner who will receive a very cool prize from the Need for Speed swag cabinet!

A couple of rules you need to be aware of:
– There are no regional restrictions for this challenge. Anybody anywhere in the world can enter!
